Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines for SSB Global Journal of Medical Science

SSB Global Journal of Medical Science is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed journal committed to advancing the field of medical science. We aim to publish high-quality, original research articles, reviews, and interdisciplinary studies across a wide range of medical disciplines, including biosciences, surgery, medicine, medical laboratory and diagnostics, and more. Our goal is to promote scientific knowledge, encourage collaboration among researchers, and support evidence-based clinical practices. By offering open access to our publications, we ensure that research findings are accessible to a global audience, fostering the dissemination of knowledge without barriers.

Below are the guidelines for authors submitting manuscripts to the journal.

1. Types of Manuscripts

We invite the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles: High-quality, original studies presenting novel findings in medical science.
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive reviews, including systematic reviews, meta-analyses, or narrative reviews.
  • Short Communications: Brief reports of new findings or preliminary results.
  • Case Reports: Detailed descriptions of clinical cases that provide insights into uncommon conditions or treatments.
  • Letters to the Editor: Concise communications related to recent publications or relevant discussions in the field.
  • Commentaries: Opinion-based articles that provide critical analysis or perspectives on current issues in medical science.

2. Manuscript Preparation

All manuscripts should be submitted in English and formatted according to the following specifications:

2.1 General Formatting:

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point.
  • Line Spacing: 1.5 line spacing throughout the manuscript.
  • Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • Page Numbers: Include page numbers in the footer.
  • File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or PDF format.

2.2 Title Page:

The title page should contain the following:

  • Title: The title should be clear, concise, and descriptive of the article’s content.
  • Author Information: Full names, institutional affiliations, and corresponding author’s contact details, including email address.
  • Abstract: A structured abstract (max. 250 words) summarizing the study’s background, methods, results, and conclusion.
  • Keywords: 4-6 relevant keywords for indexing.

2.3 Main Body of the Manuscript:

  • Introduction: Provide background information, the research problem, and the objectives of the study.
  • Materials and Methods: Detail the research design, materials, and methodology so that the study can be replicated.
  • Results: Present the findings logically, using tables, figures, and graphs where appropriate.
  • Discussion: Discuss the results, compare them with previous research, and explore their implications. Address limitations and propose directions for future research.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the key findings and their relevance to the medical field.

2.4 References:

  • Citation Style: References should be formatted using the Vancouver citation style.
  • Reference List: Number the references consecutively in the order they appear in the text. Only include sources cited within the manuscript.
  • Journal Articles: Author(s). Title of the article. Journal Name. Year; Volume(Issue): Page range.
  • Books: Author(s). Title of the Book. Edition. Place of publication: Publisher; Year.

2.5 Figures and Tables:

  • Figures: Submit high-quality figures (300 dpi) in separate files. Each figure should have a clear, descriptive caption.
  • Tables: Format tables using simple styles, without excessive formatting. Provide a title for each table.

3. Ethical Considerations

  • Ethical Approval: For studies involving human participants or animals, authors must obtain ethical approval from relevant institutional review boards or committees and include the approval number in the manuscript.
  • Informed Consent: Authors must ensure that informed consent was obtained from participants, where applicable, in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki.
  • Plagiarism: Manuscripts must be original. The journal uses plagiarism detection tools, and manuscripts found to be plagiarized will be rejected.

4. Submission Process

  • Online Submission: Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Ensure that all required fields are filled and all necessary documents are uploaded.
  • Cover Letter: A brief cover letter should accompany the manuscript, explaining the significance of the study and why it is suitable for publication in SSB Global Journal of Medical Science.
  • Supplementary Files: Authors may submit supplementary materials such as raw data, additional figures, or multimedia files.

5. Peer Review Process

  • All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
  • Authors may suggest potential reviewers, but the final decision on reviewer selection rests with the editorial team.
  • Authors will be required to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer feedback. Manuscripts may be accepted, rejected, or sent back for revisions.

6. Open Access and Copyright

  • SSB Global Journal of Medical Science is an open access journal, meaning that all articles will be freely available to readers worldwide.
  • Authors retain copyright to their work but grant the journal a license to publish and distribute their articles under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY).

7. Revisions and Resubmission

  • Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts after the peer review process. A point-by-point response to reviewer comments should accompany any resubmitted manuscript.
  • Revised manuscripts must be submitted within the timeframe specified by the editorial team. Manuscripts that are not resubmitted in time may be considered withdrawn.

The views and opinions expressed in published articles are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of SSB Global Journal of Medical Science or its editorial board.

Articles

The SSB Global Journal of Medical Science welcomes the submission of high-quality, original research articles. All submitted manuscripts must adhere to the following guidelines to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to scholarly standards.

Article Structure

1. Abstract (Structured)

  • A concise summary of up to 250 words.
  • Should provide key information under the following subheadings: Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.

2. Keywords

  • Provide 3 to 5 keywords to facilitate indexing and searchability.

3. Introduction

  • Briefly introduce the study's background and importance.
  • Clearly state the study's objective or research question.

4. Materials and Methods

  • Detail the study design, setting, and dates.
  • Describe participants, including inclusion/exclusion criteria.
  • Provide information on patient samples or animal specimens, interventions, main outcome measures, laboratory methods, and data sources.
  • Include statistical procedures used in the research.

5. Results

  • Present findings in a logical sequence using tables and/or figures for clarity.
  • Avoid repeating data from tables or figures in the text; instead, emphasize and summarize the key findings.

6. Discussion

  • Highlight the novel and important aspects of the study.
  • Place results in the context of existing literature.
  • Discuss implications, limitations, and conclusions drawn from the findings.

7. Conflicts of Interest Statement

  • Clearly disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the study.

8. Acknowledgments (if applicable)

  • Recognize individuals, institutions, or funding bodies that contributed to the study.

9. References

  • Cite up to 30 references, adhering to the journal's referencing style.

Format and Word Limit

  • Word Limit: 2,500 words (excluding abstract and references).
  • Figures and Tables: Include as needed to present results effectively.
  • Abstract: Required, structured, up to 250 words.
  • Keywords: 3-5 keywords.
